Apreciado don Arístides:
San Jorge se celebra el 23 de Abril, fecha declarada por la UNESCO en 1966 como Día Mundial del Libro. En Caracas esta feria se está celebrando ahora en la Plaza Altamira (1940s), al este de la ciudad.

Nunca como esta semana había visto la plaza tan bella -o tan a mi gusto-, con sus kioskos blancos llenos de libros y sus estanques cubiertos de pétalos de rosa. Yo, que jamás había visto el estanque así, y con lo que me gustan las rosas, me puse feliz cuando supe que por ahí pasó nuestra amiga la fotógrafa Rossella Consolini y alcanzó a tomar estas dos fotos justo luego del instante en que los lanzaron al agua.

The day of St. George is celebrated on April 23, a date declared by UNESCO in 1966 as the World Book Day. In Caracas this fair is now being held in the Plaza Altamira (1940s), at the east of the city.
Never before this week I had seen the plaza so beautiful, or so my taste, with white kiosks filled with books and its pond covered with rose petals. I, who had never seen the pond like this, and with my taste for roses, was very happy when I found that my friend the photographer Rossella Consolini had passed by and caught these two photos right after the moment the petals where thrown to the water.
